Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to digitally present this 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Lakewood, a classic embodiment of American automotive innovation and style. This vintage beauty comes in a striking yellow exterior color that complements its tan interior, offering a delightful contrast that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. Under the hood, or rather in the rear, this Lakewood is powered by a Flat Six engine, paired with a 3 Speed manual transmission, delivering a driving experience that is both engaging and reminiscent of a bygone era. One of the standout features of this 1961 Chevrolet Lakewood is its rear engine setup, a design choice that was quite innovative for its time and positioned it as General Motors' answer to the popular VW Beetle. This configuration not only contributes to the vehicle's unique driving dynamics but also allows for an impressive 68 cubic feet of storage space. This ample storage is further enhanced by the presence of both front and rear trunk spaces, providing versatility and practicality that were ahead of its time. The Chevrolet Lakewood's design and engineering reflect a period when American automakers were exploring new ideas and pushing boundaries. Its combination of style, functionality, and innovation makes it a noteworthy piece of automotive history. Whether you're a collector of classic cars or simply appreciate the charm and character of vintage vehicles, this 1961 Chevrolet Lakewood offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of the past. |
